A back-and-forth match ends with KHFC taking home 3 points

Toledo Villa FC conceded a late Kings Hammer FC goal on Tuesday, which gave Kings Hammer FC the victory.  This was the second meeting between the two teams this season, and it yielded a similar result.

Kings Hammer FC scored an opportunistic goal in the 8th minute when a loose turnover in midfield fell to Marcelo Jones.  He chipped the ball from inside the center circle, but it had the pace to catch Toledo goalkeeper Woody Holmes off his line.

Toledo Villa struggled to break down the Kings Hammer defense for much of the first half.  They finally got an equalizer in first half stoppage time.  Mike Moser's corner kick was found by Caleb Gibbons, who outjumped two opponents.  His header found the feet of Zach Mowka, who turned and hit the ball past the Kings Hammer goalkeeper.

This goal gave Toledo Villa a boost heading into the second half.  Zach Mowka nearly doubled the lead in the 48th min, after Caleb Gibbons successfully dribbled past his defender and slipped Mowka in on goal.  Mowka's shot was right at the Kings Hammer FC goalkeeper Bryant Pratt.

In the 53rd minute, we did find the lead.  Kazuki Hashimoto was able to cut inside and hit a low shot towards goal.  KHFC goalkeeper Bryant Pratt was only able to parry the shot.  Caleb Gibbons was in the right spot and was able to turn the ball into the net for the 2-1 lead.

Kings Hammer FC quickly made a number of substitutions though that would prove vital for their victory.  In the 66th minute, A long diagonal from Kings Hammer found substitute Ben Hegge in between center backs Anouar Adam and Harper Cook.  Cook was able to recover, but his toe poke only went as far as KHFC substitute Taylor Rhinehart.  Rhinehart was able to pounce and slot a shot around Woody Holmes.

Kings Hammer rounded out the scoring in the 76th minute which involved three substitutes.  A neat passing sequence found Ben Hegge in space again.  He hit a deep cross to Samuel Robinson, who was unmarked at the back post.  He hit a neat header across goal to Taylor Rhinehart to complete the comeback.

Toledo Villa will try to move on quickly as they face Fort Wayne FC Saturday June 18th at 7pm.
