Toledo Villa FC narrowly fall to Dayton Dutch Lions in the season finale.  Two goals from Dayton's Joseph Kouadio was the difference as Dayton grabbed a 2-1 win.

The match ended up being a bit of dead rubber as neither team were in contention for the playoffs heading into the match.  It didn't stop the two teams from playing a high tempo match that was tight through the 90 minutes.  

Joseph Kouadio managed to open the scoring in the 61st and sparked a frantic few minutes.  Kouadio only needed another 6 minutes to double the lead.

Toledo kept at it and were able to pull one back in the 71st minute.  A free kick managed to find the head of N'Faly Diallo for his first goal of the season. 

A late chance almost saw an equalizer for Toledo.  A breakaway managed to find Eli Shope in space to slot home a goal only for a late offside to deny Toledo the point.  

That result wrapped up the 2022 season for the players.  Once again we are thankful for the players efforts and time this summer and can't wait to start planning for 2023!
